New solvent: Naphtha
Apparently Naphtha (known as Shellite in Australia) can be used for cleaning. But as near as I can tell it’s mostly used for fuel.
Things You Should Know About Databases
This one popped up in my feed today: Things You Should Know About Databases. My favourite quote was this one:

Mac startup tips

Wrist strap and ground
I have this anti-static wrist strap and a ZYX-209-I ESD wrist strap tester/monitor which I demonstrate in the video below.
PVC insulated cables
So I asked about cleaning cables over here and apparently the material on the outside of a typical cable is PVC (Polyvinyl chloride), AKA “vinyl”. The jury is still out on what the best cleaner is for vinyl, but options include WD40, IPA, and metho (ethanol). What is this cable called?
Acetone
New floor
My floor is made from Gaffa tape:
John’s ethanol
I didn’t know that methylated spirits (AKA “metho”) were made from ethanol. The ethanol that I have is 99% Bio-Ethanol Alcohol:
