New solvent: Naphtha
Apparently Naphtha (known as Shellite in Australia) can be used for cleaning. But as near as I can tell it’s mostly used for fuel.
Things You Should Know About Databases

It’s so important to know what isolation level is applicable to your connection/transaction.
Mac startup tips
If you hold shift when you boot your Mac it will boot in safe mode. When you’re logging in hold shift and your apps that normally open at start-up won’t be opened automatically.
Wrist strap and ground
I have this anti-static wrist strap and a ZYX-209-I ESD wrist strap tester/monitor which I demonstrate in the video below.
PVC insulated cables
So I asked about cleaning cables over here and apparently the material on the outside of a typical cable is PVC (Polyvinyl chloride), AKA “vinyl”. The jury is still out on what the best cleaner is for vinyl, but options include WD40, IPA, and metho (ethanol). I was worried that such solvents might damage PVC around electrical cables, but apparently it won’t.
What is this cable called?
If you open up a disc drive you are liable to see cables such as the one pictured below. I’d like to know what these cables are called and if it’s possible to order them. I would want them in different widths and lengths. What should I search for?
