When I finally get a PCIe IDE adapter that works, this is gonna come in handy: How to mount an Xbox formatted drive on Ubuntu.
The IDE adapter that I have is this one, but it reports all disks as damaged (and they’re not). I think maybe it’s too new for the drives maybe? Speaking a newer version of the ATA protocol? I have no idea really.

I’m not sure when you’d use ethanol rather than isopropyl. Maybe Craig can tell us in the comments section? :)
What am I missing?
My new AV switch arrived today, and I set it up on my bench. But I had it laid out horizontally and it was taking up a lot of bench space and I decided I’d rather have it mounted vertically.
So I got an old component box like this one
from my drawer
and cut it up so I could mount my AV switch vertically, like this:

So I’m gonna try my hand at refurbishing and trading original Xbox games and hardware at: OGXbox Australia. Wish me luck? :)

Never seen a problem like this before!
I was cleaning some old Xbox controllers. Dead skin had compacted into the grooves along the edges, and I needed something to scrape it out. I tried some of my tools, but everything was too big and wouldn’t fit in the groove. So I grabbed a big paperclip and busted out my file to hone my own tool. Works great! :)
I’m trying to figure out what these black insulating stickers around the screw holes in my OGXbox motherboard are called so I can find and buy some more… if *you* have any idea I would love to hear!
